High-Resolution, Low-SAR T2 Imaging at High Magnetic Fields

چکیده
The PSIF (gradient-reversed FISP, SSFP, CE-FAST) sequence is demonstrated to produce high-quality, T,-weighted images in human brain at magnetic field strengths of 4 Tesla and above In contrast to spin-echo or multiple-echo imaging techniques commonly used in clinical practice at lower fields, the importance of Bi homogeneity in PSIF imaging is minimal and the average RF power deposition is low While the inherent SNR of the PSIF technique is low, the high speed of acquisition combined with the low average SAR allows for averaging and/or 3D acquisition to produce high-resolution images in a clinically acceptable amount of time

High-Resolution T2 FMRI at High Magnetic Fields Using PSIF
At very high magnetic fields such as 7 Tesla, it is expected that imaging techniques that take advantage of the Tz BOLD effect will produce activation maps more specific and better localized to actual sites of neuronal activation than those arising from the T; BOLD effect. In this work, the PSIF (gradient-reversed FISP, SSFP, CE-FAST) sequence is used as such a technique because it is particula...
متن کاملHigh spatial and temporal myocardial CINE T2* mapping at 7.0 T: a feasibility study
Background Myocardial tissue characterization using T2* relaxation mapping techniques is an emerging application of clinical cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging. The increase in microscopic susceptibility at higher magnetic field strengths renders myocardial T2* mapping at ultrahigh magnetic fields conceptually appealing. This work demonstrates the feasibility of myocardial T2* imaging at...
متن کاملIn vivo High Angular Resolution Diffusion-Weighted Imaging of Mouse Brain at 16.4 Tesla
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of the rodent brain at ultra-high magnetic fields (> 9.4 Tesla) offers a higher signal-to-noise ratio that can be exploited to reduce image acquisition time or provide higher spatial resolution. However, significant challenges are presented due to a combination of longer T1 and shorter T2/T2* relaxation times and increased sensitivity to magnetic susceptibility ...
متن کاملContrast behavior and relaxation effects of conventional and hyperecho-turbo spin echo sequences at 1.5 and 3 T.
To overcome specific absorption rate (SAR) limitations of spin-echo-based MR imaging techniques, especially at (ultra) high fields, rapid acquisition relaxation enhancement/TSE (turbo spin echo)/fast spin echo sequences in combination with constant or variable low flip angles such as hyperechoes and TRAPS (hyperTSE) have been introduced. Due to the multiple spin echo and stimulated echo pathway...
متن کاملTurbo-FLASH Based Arterial Spin Labeled Perfusion MRI at 7 T
Motivations of arterial spin labeling (ASL) at ultrahigh magnetic fields include prolonged blood T1 and greater signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). However, increased B0 and B1 inhomogeneities and increased specific absorption ratio (SAR) challenge practical ASL implementations. In this study, Turbo-FLASH (Fast Low Angle Shot) based pulsed and pseudo-continuous ASL sequences were performed at 7T, by t...
